about bill hart

Bill Hart is a lecturer in Electronic Media (E-Media) at the Tasmanian School of Art, University of Tasmania. He runs courses in 3D and 2D animation, digital imaging, web design and interactivity. He hates the idea of training, preferring to encourage learning through exploration and experimentation.

Having worked with computers since the late 1970's, his art practice began with video , and now encompasses digital prints and "temporal imaging".

Research and inquiry has been a life long interest, his first degree was in theoretical physics and he worked for some time with the CSIRO division of Oceanography. The clash between visual culture and digital technology of the past fifteen years has provided unique opportunities to reflect on the nature of creativity and knowledge, and of course to have some fun.

He is a founding member of the Digital Art Research Facility (DARF) at the Tasmanian School of Art,and is currently undertaking a PhD at the school.
